E85 production is on the rise in the US, and Canadians should see this as a good sign. The Coors Brewing company, has doubled its production of E85 fuel to 3 millions gallons per year. E85 can be produced from corn and wheat, however it can also be produced by alcohol-heavy grains and yeast used in beer-making. These grains and yeast, consist of low-grade ethanol, and are a biproduct of the comapny's typical brewing process. The increase in production of E85 had led to an obvious rise in E85 pumping stations in Colorado, where the plant is located. Pump locations are determined by density if E85 vehicles within the region. The state agency is negotiating with gas stations to increase amount of pumping stations on streets highly populated with E85 vehicles. In Canada, the awareness of E85 vehicles is beginning to heighten, and more stations will be added, as awareness and later demand, continually increases.E85 flex-fuel vehicles can use fuel or an ethanol and fuel combination, that is composed of up to 85% ethanol.Currently in the US there are more than six million flex-fuel vehicles on the road, and is rising, as more auto-makers produce a greater number of flex-fuel models. Large auto makers such as Ford, GM and Daimler Chrysler will double production of flex-fuel vehicles by 2010. Ford, alone has significantly increased advertising on their flex-fuel cars in both Canada and the US, and introduced many new models in their 2007 line. Flex-fuel vehicles are not a new to the market. Although several companies are expanding their E85 lines, some auto-makers have flex-fuel vehicle models dating back to their 1998-99 vehicle lines.
