Researching a Car Online

Google BlogSearch

One of my parents friends asked me about how to go about finding a used car online last weekend.  He said the task seemed somewhat daunting giving the plathora of choices out there.  I explained that it isn't as tough as it looks.  The first place to turn is obviously a search engine.  Type in what your looking for such as:

1.  articles about the specific model or models you want.

2.  information on the specific brand

3.  request information on dealers

4.  use online portals to find the car

Once you have located the car, find a call to action that interests you, such as "request more information" and provide your email address.  This is a very unobtrusive way to get some information.  If you like what you hear, follow up with a phone call to set an appointment.

The web is great because you can really narrow your search down to a few specific cars that appeal to you.  Instead of driving all over town and checking out cars, you can get everything you need including vehicle history.  Again, I always recommend a search engine first but where you go from there is up to you!
