Top 10 Used Cars to Finance

Buying used and financing? These vehicles should keep you on the road!
Google BlogSearch

Buying a used car is always a good idea.  You save a significant amount of money by letting someone else take the big depreciation hit.  Yet, you always have to remember that what you might save in depreciation, you might end up paying back in maintenance.  That being said, there's a number of cars that I feel, if they are well maintained, will give you quite a few years of realitively trouble free driving. To avoid problems, look for vehicles with few options.  If your must have's are A/C and an automatic transmission, stick with those options.  Every option adds a potential problem or an expense.  For example, alloy wheels usually have a wider treadwidth, as a result they cost more to replace.  Adding power windows adds 4 power window motors...the list goes on.

The reason I have selected the vehicles below is due to the fact that a 3-4 year old example is less than $10,000, can be financed for up to 5 years, and have 5/100 powertrain warranties and are considered to be very reliable.

In no particular order:

1.  Hyundai Accent

2.  Mazda Protege

3.  Chevrolet Impala

4.  Suzuki Aerio

5.  Toyota Corolla

6.  Honda Civic

7.  Mitsubishi Lancer

8.  Hyundai Sonata

9.  Nissan Sentra

10.  Subaru Impreza

All are good choices and smart used car buys.
