| September 18, 2006 | | BMW to Release Hydrogen and Fuel Engine Car | BMW goes clean and green, as reported by the Globe and Mail, and CNNMoney.com. The auto maker has announced the arrival and limited production of its 2007 hyrdogen 7, a combination of a hydrogen and gasoline, 12 cylinder internal combustion engine. The car can switch fuels automatically when the car is out of hydrogen, and the type of fuel can be changed at any time with the press of a button. The vehicle is not only high performing, but luxurious as well, as it is based on the company largest and priciest sedan. The biggest criticism of hydrogen vehicles in the past has been the lack of hydrogen stations available. Also the separation of hydrogen may in fact increase pollution, as it requires a significant amount of energy. In addition to this, the hydrogen is typically separate from non-renewable resources. Check out the Globe and Mail article, Hydro-genetics, as well as the CNNMoney.com article, Coming Soon for more information. Not ready for a hydrogen car or a hybrid car?
